Downtown Fort Myers is bringing something new to it's iconic First Street. The Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency Board of Commissioners has approved the concept plans for its first pocket park in place if its vacant lot.
"AMA First Capital LLC, the original owners of the property as they state their planned development of the site will not happen in the near future, They agreed to lease the property to the CRA as a public amenity for the next 15 years and the lease was approved on December 14th, 2022." Says Katiuska Carrillo of Gulfshore Business.
"This pocket park is designed to be an open green space nestled between buildings and the concepts feature a paver patio, public searing, a water fountain, pet dish, murals on neighboring buildings and various landscaping.
The project has been funded and is in the process of being named and, with the help of the Naples Botanical Gardens, choosing the plants to use in the landscaping, and bringing the plans to Fort Myer's historic preservation committees this June."
