We are happy to announce that the City of Fort Myers has approved the pile permit for Prima Luce on the Waterfront.
Earlier this spring, all of the old piles were removed from the Prima Luce construction site. Later this year, the installation of more than 800 new piles begins, and will take approximately three months to complete.
Each new auger cast pile will be about 80 feet long by 18 inches wide. Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) Piles – also known as Auger Cast Piles – are cast in place by rotating a hollow stem CFA deep into the soil and sand below. Concrete is pumped down into the cavity under pressure as the auger is slowly removed, and a steel reinforcement cage is inserted for added strength.
Once installed, piles act as foundational, structural support by transferring the weight loads from the building above down to harder strata below.
Currently, the Prima Luce team is finalizing the construction contract with a reputable builder, and continues diligently working with engineers and the City of Fort Myers to finalize items as quickly as possible to keep the project progressing.
